Thanks for your frank comments Ian, I understand the emotion too, even without ever “wearing green”. Anzac Day is like Remembrance Day in impact here in NZ. Wi Pete was a Māori leader who was instrumental in the recruitment of Māori as soldiers in WWI, but died in 1915, with his memorial unveiled just after the war , as those left of his recruitments came home from Europe.
