…if we could see radio waves, maybe they would look something like this, as in comic art. but i am content with the aural magic they bring across airspace…there is something about music, news, or whatever, coming to you from another physical place in real time that the internet doesn’t quite replicate and which leaves the visuals to our imaginations…

I totally agree.
There is something about radio 📻 that the Internet can’t replicate.
Back in 2016, when I couldn’t find a job and had no income and to have money for rent, I couldn’t pay my cable bill and so the cable company shut off my cable TV and internet connection, I did happen to own a radio and so I kept in contact with the outside world through that.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks so Christopher/ Dracul. That is a great story about connnectedness during tough times. I had serious cancer during 2021 and a lot of sleeplessness owing to pain. The others in the house were sleeping Weirdly, I turned to early morning talkback on my cheap transistor for something to take my mind off things, other crazy insomniacs were a comfort…
