      1. Near me, there is an ancient woodland called Puddings Wood. I am in a campaign group to try to stop the housing developers from bulldozing these beautiful trees and the habitats that have formed due to the wood having been there for many years. The company, called Bloor Homes, are insistent on destroying the whole of the woodland to build new apartments. These days, every council seems to be throwing up endless flats and often on greenbelt land, which is not meant to be built on. Plenty of brown belt land is around to build on, but perhaps, not in areas where people want to live. Nature is essential for all beings to live. We have already lost a considerable percentage of our biodiversity. Apparently, only 60% of insects are now still surviving than there were several years ago. It’s called, rather horribly, the windscreen test. In earlier years, as cars travelled along roads and motorways, the windscreen was covered in poor dead insects. Now, there are 60% fewer of them, which is quite noticeable, especially at night when the insects are attracted to the light of the headlights and street lighting.

Sorry, I’ve gone off-topic again. It’s a habit of mine. It’s something I feel passionate about, which is why I am part of Extinction Rebellion, who are fighting for the survival of our planet. Many people dislike us, but our hearts are 100% in the right place 🌳🌴🌲

      2. Thank you for sharing your passion and the story of the local woodland under threat. That story is repeated everywhere I think as an ever increasing population seeks new places, but once gone…gone forever. Big ups for your commitment to change things!
