Random Thoughts

‘Random Thoughts’

Random thoughts.

Fuzzy often.

Or like sparks igniting unexpected insights.

Going off on tangents, in every direction, hard to control.

It wouldn’t be any sort of mind life without them.

Sometimes they make no sense at all; at other times they are the missing piece in a puzzle.

Thoughts are just that – thoughts. You don’t have to act on them, but you can!

I mean, this post was going to be something completely different until the above image sent my mind off and running somewhere else.

So, I will leave you with these random thoughts for the day, and wish you moments of your own filled with delightful randomness!

Complicated

Calton Hill, Edinburgh    October 2019

This hotchpotch building, with its quiltwork of bricks and windows caught my eye in Scotland late last year.

Quirkily fascinating.

And complicated…

It’s as if there was more than one hand in the plans, or perhaps the cash ran dry at some point and they started up again later, with whatever was around at the time.

Much is made of having a focused “design for life”.

In reality though, most of our somewhat random lives resemble this sort of thing, more so than any sleek, linear design!

A Gift Of Figs

20200227_105219

From the ” you don’t know what you don’t know ” department:

Three fresh figs ( there’s a wee tongue twister for you) were placed on my work desk this morning by the eccentric but generous woman who visits, and tries to sell all sorts of stuff to, the locals at the marae.

I looked up and had no idea what they were initially, until she told me. I had only seen them in dried form previously.

They look cool, and a little alien, but I haven’t eaten one yet.

Maybe I just want the mystery and kindness of the random gift to continue a little longer…
