‘Within Your Grasp’
…you may feel you are clutching at thin air at times – keep reaching – you are within touching distance of what you want and where you need to be…

‘Dangling Traps’
(a pitcher plant picture)
…allure,a lure,for the unwary – don’t fall in!
.

‘Little Fountain’

‘Locked In’
“Locked in” is one of those phrases capable of two meanings.
Imprisoned.
Or,certain.
You can probably be both at the same time…

‘Small Miracles’
…for there are hundreds of them, every single day…

‘Zigzag’

‘Torn Pillar’

‘Calm/Broken’

‘Mangroves & Tide II’
Auckland’s Tamaki River seeps through the mangroves on the incoming tide.
I have never lived more than five minutes drive from the river, and as such this is one of the most familiar and comforting views I know.
Forgive me then any repetition of this imagery – it is engrained in me, and tidal patterns inspire much of this blog, and my life as well.
Enjoy!

‘In Formation(Three Geese)’
…together we glide…

‘Here Comes The Summer’
Summer is coming to Aotearoa/New Zealand.
I know this not just because the weather is getting warmer,or that Labour Weekend has just passed.
But because the creamy flower buds are appearing on the pohutukawa trees.
Soon the trees will be awash with crimson bloom.
And summer will be here.

‘Epiphytic Layers’
…in the grove of things that just hold on…

‘Gothic Aeonium’

‘Striped And Scarred’
Palm trunk detail, striped and scarred.
Patterns of age, growth and wear.
Those markings are on the outside.
What of our own stripes and scars, often invisible to others?
I suspect that we all have them.
Remember, that the markings of adversity and growth remind us how far we have come and who we really are.

‘Red Hot Poker’
That really is the name of this flowering plant, or one of its names at least.
Very apt, for this harbinger of summer down south.

‘Thank You!’
What it says on the cake, really.
A grateful client (who also happens to be a cake maker) gave me this chocolatey creation recently.
Delicious!
Not that you got to taste it, but I post an image of the cake by way of thanks to you who tune in to this blog, and give feedback and encouragement, even just by looking and reading.
I don’t take your viewership for granted.
I am incredibly grateful for your support.
Thank you, and all the best with your own creative endeavours!

‘Dangling Epiphytes’
A shot of greenery in my mother’s garden – epiphytic plants, stag’s horns, I think.
Epiphytes grow on trees but do not feed off them.
They rely on the host trees for support but without damaging them.
This is, I reckon, a good way to be.

‘The Far Now’
…for it has arrived!…
