‘Silo Park I’

‘Hundertwasser XII’
So that’s the final photo in a series of twelve – aspects of the two idiosyncratic and rather wonderful Hundertwasser-designed buildings in New Zealand’s Northland.
I hope you have enjoyed the colourful views, and thanks for tuning in!

‘Hundertwasser XI’

‘Hundertwasser X’

‘Hundertwasser IX’
…another recycled bottle window courtesy of the unorthodox but environmentally friendly design mind of Friedensreich Hundertwasser…

‘Hundertwasser VIII’

‘Hundertwasser V’

‘Hundertwasser IV’
I realise this has become an accidental series of photos of the newly finished Hundertwasser Art Centre – random shots taken on New Year’s Day of the very random and esoteric building. Friedensreich Hundertwasser was an Austrian visual artist, architect and environmentalist, who spent the latter part of his life in New Zealand.
He viewed straight lines as “godless and immoral” apparently. Not too many straight lines in this building inspired by his lifetime of doggedly individualistic design!
More to come…

‘Hundertwasser III’

‘The House At No.29A’
…another old home that called to me to photograph it, this time in the Auckland suburb of Ponsonby, very genteel…

‘The House at No.12’
…a random old wooden villa in a leafy Auckland suburb today; I often wonder who has lived, or still lives, in the homes that catch my eye…

‘Steel/ Glass/ Sky’

‘Cross The Sky II’

‘Masonic Lodge Window’
… note the freemasonry symbol of the angled square in the upper part of the window…
