Silo Park, on the western fringe of Auckland’s CBD and the edge of the Waitemata Harbour, was previously an industrial freight and storage area, replete with gigantic cement storage silos and steel bulk liquid tanks.
These days it is a somewhat gentrified recreational and arts precinct. The old cement silos are even used as movie screens on occasion! The area has been greatly transformed in its everyday use but still preserves its mercantile history.
